.1. Make sure you select only a state licensed contractor.

2. Choose an active member of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA).

3. Be sure that the contractor you choose is prepared to give you a complete well construction report.

4. Ask for proof of adequate liability and worker’s compensation insurance to protect you.

5. Ask the contractor for references from previous customers.

6. Allow no work to begin without a written contract or signed estimate, clearly specifying the terms, conditions and payment agreements.
